Easy Peasy Smoothie Recipe

[sharethis]

The 21 Day Green Up Smoothie Challenge starts Dec. 1st!

In order to ease into adding greens like kale and spinach, it’s a good idea to start with my Easy Peasy Smoothie. It’s very basic, light, and I make this often when I need a quick snack.  Usually I have the ingredients on hand so it’s easy peasy.

The sweetness of the fruit is delightful, and you won’t even know that the green goodness sneaked  in.  My kids really dig this one!

So go ahead and make your drink.

Ingredients:

1 bunch kale (1 cup)

1 banana, peeled

1/4 cup blueberries (I used fresh but frozen will also work)

1/4 cup strawberries (I used fresh but frozen will also work)

1 1/2  cup filtered water

Extra somethin’ somethin’:

Add 1 Tbsp. ground flaxseeds for omega 3 boost.

Add 1 Tbsp. raw almond butter for protein boost.

Replace water with 1 1/2 cups unsweetened original almond milk.

Blend ingredients and drink up.

Makes 18-24 oz.

Serves 2

Save any leftovers for snack or tomorrow’s drink.  Store in fridge and drink when ready.

Is this some beautiful food porn or what! I had so much fun watching Alison of Sugar Farm Productions style the food, but it’s actually quite tedious! I didn’t realize every berry, even flaxseed had to look just right. I loved watching Alison work her magic, and you’ll get to enjoy 21 days of smoothie love with me, too.
