Sexy Smoothie Recipe for Two

February…what a delicious month.

Candied hearts, strawberries dipped in chocolate, red roses…

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I couldn’t resist writing a post about love and connecting it to food.

I made this  silky chocolate treat, and let me tell you, it gets your juices flowing.  It’s indulgent and very fun to share.

The Sexy Smoothie for Two has a lot of sexiness to it.

Take a look at some of the aphrodisiac ingredients:

Bananas:

Bananas are loaded with tons of B vitamins and potassium which increase the production of sex hormones.

Avocados:

I did a little Google search on this one and found out that the word “avocado” translates to “testicle” back in the Aztec times.  So this might call for the aphrodisiac title.

Also, avocados are great bases for smoothies and are full of good fats and potassium (again, great for sexiness).

Cacao

Cacao  is said to contain serotonin and phenylethylamine; chemicals that are naturally found in the brain that induce the “feel good mood.

Cardamom

Cardamom is definitely the sexiest spice on Earth. Even the  smell alone  is very seductive.

Vanilla

The sweet smell of vanilla is known to soothe emotional tension and to increase energy levels,  improve circulation, as well as produce a euphoric effect on your brain.

Ready to make this delightful drink for you and your loved one?

Sexy Smoothie for Two

Ingredients:

1-2 large ripe bananas ( you can use frozen if you like)

1 ripe avocado, pitted
1/2 cup cacao powder
1/2 tsp. chili powder (for a nice little kick)
1 tsp. cardamom
2 cups coconut milk  ( I like them  super thick, so I used milk but you can substitute with 2 cups coconut water)
1 Tbsp.  vanilla extract

Directions:

Blend all ingredients together in blender until very smooth.  Toast your loved one and drink up.

Makes two 16 oz. glasses.

Note: Kevin thought the smoothie was too think for his liking, so we tweaked with the coconut water.  I ended up using a spoon for mine;  very pudding like.  Kate (my 9 year old) joined me but doesn’t like the word sexy (it embarrasses her)  so we named it Silky Smoothie.  Thought you might like this little back story.:)

Do you have a favorite Valentine treat? What is it?

Enjoy your smoothie and have a Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. Sounds good and i will try it this Thursday. I think I’ll add some whey protein if you don’t mind. I’ll get a little post workout boost with my Valentine toast all in one. Just need the cacao

    1. Mark, it is so good! As for the protein, totally go for it.I’m not a big fan of whey, unless whey concentrate…have you ever tried Vega? Or a hemp, pea protein.? Thanks for stopping by! AND enjoy your smoothie!:)

  2. That looks amazing! Going to try it over the weekend. LOL about the sexy, my five year old told me it was a bad word last week.

    1. It’s tastes like a yummy pudding, Kathy! I know you’ll love it…and my 10 year old puts her hands to her ears every time she hears the word, “sexy.” Kids are so funny! Happy Valentine’s Day! xx
