How to Make a Salad Jar


This is our first video for the Spring Renewal detox series.

You are going to love this trick especially if you want to be prepared with healthy lunches.

There will be no more, “Ahhhh, crap.  I forgot my lunch again so let’s go to Subway.” OR “I wish I could have salad for lunch but if I make it ahead of time, it gets all soggy.  Plus it’s too much work.”

Make a bunch of these salad jars Sunday night so each morning you can just grab and go.  No excuses.

Make sure to get 32 oz. size Mason canning jars with the wide mouth so you can get items into the jar easily.

You can use any greens, protein, and veggies for your salad jar.  Experiment and have fun with it.  The combo I used in the video is part of the menu for Spring Renewal.

Here’s my Balsamic dressing recipe:


3 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
2 tsp. dijon mustard
2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
Sea salt and pepper, to taste


Whisk together the vinegar and mustard. Slowly combine in oil until dressing is well mixed and smooth. Add a dash of salt and pepper to taste.

I love the video Lisa! You look gorgeous, your apron is adorable and the salad looks fantastic!
I can’t wait to try this. But if I make 5 on Sunday, will the avocado really last all week?

    Why, Michelle, thank you! AND it’s an Anthropologie apron…I dig it! I wouldn’t add the avocado if you will make 5 of them. It should be fine for the days, but if you don’t like the bit of browning, I would stick to 1-2 days with avocado. Glad you liked the vid! xx

      Ok, your dressing is delish!!! We had them for dinner last night and Joe is having one for lunch today. I just added broccoli and used red quinoa, but I think everything else was the same. YUM!
